BELLY DANCE & FLAMENCO CLASSES: Summer, 2010

Inscendance: Dancing the Core: Combining isolations for core strength and movement meditation practices of the Middle East and North Africa, the class is framed by deep but gentle stretching.
Essential Belly Dance: Core vocabulary of this ancient and inwardly strengthening art & introduction to basic cultural styling.  (”Essential” classes are mixed level, both beginner and intermediate, so movements are taught most basic level and dynamic layering is added to challenge more experienced dancers.)
Intermediate/ Advanced Belly Dance: Develop technique & layering, phrasing & musicality, as well as floor patterning and props; explore more cultural variations.
Turkish Roman Dance: Saucy style of the Roma (Gypsies) of Turkey to the ubiquitous 9/8 rhythm — easier than you think!
Basic Flamenco: Rhythms and essential technique (brazeo — hand, arm, and body movement — and zapateo — footwork) of flamenco’s movement vocabulary within its traditional structure.  Wear shoes with a sturdy heel and flexible sole; no open toes or sling-backs.

Class Policies: 10% discount on shorter class if you take 2 classes/session.
No refunds given after first day of class; but credits may be flexible, depending on extreme circumstances and not extending beyond session.
Private lessons are $45/hour; $150 if pre-pay for 4 hours and to be used within 6 months.  Cancellations must be made 12 hours prior. If studio rental prearranged, fee must still be covered.
